For the past 8 years, I’ve embraced a solo lifestyle, honing my skills in self-sufficiency and simplifying my life to steer clear of the consumerist rat race. With just one junior team job, I’ve prioritized keeping things uncomplicated. However, when my dad passed away earlier this year, a sudden financial burden weighed on my shoulders.
Realizing the need for financial independence without tying myself down to a single company, I reflected on my past experiences. Two years ago, I juggled three jobs just to scrape by and maintain my visa status. After seven years of this relentless hustle, I reached a breaking point.
